“We don’t come to the table to take a side — we come to the table to build a path forward together.”
– H.E. Mr. Dao Manh Nghia, DMN President
This was our President’s core message at the 2025 Kofi Annan Foundation Peace Address, where he was honoured to speak during the Peace Dialogue on Intergenerational Peacebuilding at Geneva Peace Week.
Representing the DMN Initiative – SDGs Council – DMN Foundation, the UN Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), and the SDG16 GYC, he shared the stage with:
• H.E. Mr. Martin Griffiths, International Mediator and former UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs
• Victoria do Nascimento Houpert, young peacebuilder
• Mariyum Areeb Amjad, young peacebuilder
Together, they explored how we can collectively mediate conflict and build sustainable peace.
When asked how youth can bridge deep distrust, President Nghia emphasised our role as “human connectors, translators of hope, and living reminders of the future.”
We are active peacebuilders — this is our mission.
We extend sincere gratitude to the Kofi Annan Foundation, the Geneva Graduate Institute, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform for hosting, and to UN MGCY, SDG16 GYC, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform for the nomination and full sponsorship enabling his participation.
